*ITEM: SMURF Choo Choo Plastic Toy Train Set 1981 Railroad

*MEASURES: Locomotive 9" X 4 1/2" X 2 1/2"
*CONDITION: Train pieces are in good looking condition. No broken pieces noticed. The train was tested mechanically and did not pass. New batteries ( not included ) were put into the battery compartment and turned on. The front light came on, the electric motor came on and ran but did not turn the wheels. The wheels do turn, but not by the motor. The plastic gear between the motor and wheels, that turns the wheels is probably stripped and needs to be replaced. I did not go into the train and have a look. This is a commom problem for this type of toy. This toy needs to be with someone who can find and replace the stripped gear. The box is in aged and scrubby condition. Lots of corner and side tears that have been taped over the years. The face of the box also has some tears that have been taped. Other than that the train itself looks good except for the mechanical problems stated earlier. There is some soil here and there. Box has its dings, knicks, marks, scratches and wear.
